Riverview Systems Redesign

We’re excited to announce the launch of the redesigned website for Riverview Systems Group Inc! Riverview gave us full reign to recreate their site from the ground up and, from our design team’s perspective, that’s a dream come true. It has been an absolute blast working with this company and getting a chance to see their equipment in action. In collaboration, we were able to put together a design that matched both their profession and style. Best part about it, this is just the tip of the iceberg. In a continual effort, we plan to implement new design features and concepts to Riverview’s site on an ongoing basis.

A little bit about Riverview Systems Group

Riverview specializes in the rental, sale, design, installation and implementation of lighting, sound and projection systems for corporate and educational markets. Feature List:

  • Interactive SlideShow
  • Transparent Header Design
  • Gallery System
  • Non-CMS 100% custom coded
  • Google Maps integrated in the Contact page Header

Development

With Riverview, we know it had to be something special. They’re a hard working creative company, and their website needed to show a nice mix of both creativity and ingenuity. When Riverview puts together a lightshow, set or stage, it really leaves an unforgettable experience. We needed to bring that same experience to their website in showing off what they can do in the most effective way possible.

We were able to create an Interactive Slideshow. From the home page, you’ll see different slides of some of the featured work Riverview has done over the years. If you place your mouse over the slider, you’ll see some boxes show up. These boxes are indications of something more, and sliding your mouse over one of them reveals details of the project you’re currently viewing.

They needed a Gallery to show off the rest of their projects so we developed something very simple to just show off their work. You can cycle through each image on this page. The image thumbnails are automatically generated, so adding new ones are a snap!

One of the most important pages, the contact page. We love being creative with Google Maps and contact pages (note our own). Since the design on Riverviews site has a really nice semi-transparent header, we wanted to use that to our advantage. We used the whole top section of the page for Google Maps (go ahead, interact with it).

Final Thoughts

We’re all very pleased with the results of the website, it leaves a lasting, memorable impression of who Riverview is and what they do. This is only “Stage One”, and we plan on adding to this project in the future as we continue to work with them on improving their online presence. We had a wonderful time creating the website and visiting their place (video above) for the Riverview 25th Anniversary, another successful launch!

Please feel free to share with us your thoughts of the design and leave a comment below.

Website Redesign: PtrEnergy.com

We recently rolled out with a redesign for one of our long time clients, Partner Energy. We originally created their first website a few years back, but keeping up with the times, Partner Energy was ready for a fresh concept. We really wanted to come up with a redesign that would be tranquil, soothing, and clean while still maintaining that professional feel. Both, the design team and Partner Energy agree – we did just that. Take a look at the previous design.

The New Design

In Development

Developing the Partner Energy site was simple. We knew exactly what we needed to do and how we were going to do it. They wanted to be able to easily edit every aspect of their WordPress site. We set it up so they could edit the slider, menu(s) and content of every page. We really had some fun setting up the inner-page sidebar, and the drop-down menu effects, but otherwise this was a pretty straightforward project.

New Site Launch: Mother’s Bistro

TrevNet Media is excited to announce the launch of a new website for Mother’s Bistro &  Bar! It’s been a real pleasure working with this company and can’t wait to try out their food next time we’re in Portland.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MOTHER’S BISTRO & BAR

Located in downtown Portland, OR, Mother’s Bistro has a style a in it’s own. Featuring authentic cooking from mothers around the world, signature dishes include pot roast, chicken and dumplings, meat loaf and crab cakes, as well as featured dishes from a different mother each month.

“The best meals of a country aren’t in its restaurants. They’re found in its homes, made with love by mothers cooking for their families. That’s why each month we feature a Mother of the Month (or ‘M.O.M.’), and bring you some of her special dishes prepared in our kitchen.”

THE DEVELOPMENT OF MOTHER’S BISTRO & BAR

In a way, we’re releaved to be done with this project because we’d have to stare at the pictures of tasty food all day! We really love making websites for restaurants because (depending on the type of food) it really gives us a chance to get a little more creatively outside-the-box. The folk at Mothers Bistro & Bar knew what they wanted when they contact us, but it was our job to take that idea and really bring it to life.

This design turned out to be drastically different than something we normally do, and they wanted it all bundled up in an easily maintainable WordPress environment. They really wanted to have the ability to show off their restaurant and the food in a big way, so we made the whole background of the site a photo. We then gave the staff at Mothers Bistro & Bar the ability to change these photo’s whenever they wanted to, and even add more than one (go ahead, refresh the page a few times!).

Another really fun page during the development process was the contact page. We wanted to have Google Maps here to make it easy to find the restaurant, but the challenge was figuring out where to fit it. So, we used the whole background of the site for the maps. You can even interact with the background here, it turned out great!

To top it all off, having the website mobile ready was important to Mothers Bistro & Bar, so we made the whole site a responsive design. This means, every page and it’s content will work on your phone, tablet and any other mobile platform automatically.

Here’s a list of the fun things we did for Mothers Bistro & Bar:

Working with Mothers Bistro & bar to make the website of their dreams was an absolute pleasure. They gave us the freedom we needed and the insight into their style of cooking and serving food to really make this website stand out. We had a lot of fun and look forward to the success of Mothers Bistro & Bar in the future.

New Website Redesign: RethinkYoga.com

We’re excited to announce the new redesign for RethinkYoga.com! We really enjoyed working with Kim Shand throughout this project. With her feedback, we were able to design a concept that matched both her personality and profession.

A little bit about Rethink Yoga

Kim Shand is a nationally-renowned yoga expert and on-air personality who has helped tens of thousands of people “rethink-yoga”.

With a background in dance and aerobics, plus the knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and organic health of the body, she’s able to inspire people to take control of their health, how they think and how they age, through yoga. Kim is also working on two new books: “What’s Holding You Back?” and “Strong Women Think Different.”

Making this all possible

Here’s just a few of the fun features we added:

  • Media management (magazine, video and gallery)
  • Interactive Blog with “Recent Posts” sidebar
  • ECommerce store with Paypal integration
  • Image slider with thumbnails
  • Newsletter modal

RethinkYoga needed a way to show off what they stand for in a creative way. From a development perspective it is always a challenge when working with a white on black design (where the background is a dark color, and the text is white). We really needed to maintain that readability throughout the site even through the colors are flipped, and we’re very happy with the results. One of the main ideas we focused on is the ability for the website to grow as the company grows; she needed the flexibility of adding new content easily.

Kim wanted the ability to add media content, galleries and videos easily. This is something we were able to make possible using WordPress as well as a flexible design. On top of the amount of video and media content we added, she also needed the ability to sell some merchandise. We had to turn a section of her site into an ECommerce platform, which was integrated with Paypal so she could easily manage her sales.

Working with Kim Shand was truly a delight and bringing her new website to life was a success! We expect great things to happen with Kim and RethinkYoga’s future and we’re happy to be part of it.
